Accept To Release Cinematic Documentary

German Metallers Accept, who reformed in 2009 with Mark Tornillo taking over vocal duties, are to release footage taken from their recent appearence at Bang Your Head Festival which took place on the 15th and 16th July 2011 in Balingen, Germany.

Accept’s current line-up consists of;

Mark Tonillo (Vocals)
Wolf Hoffman (Guitar)
Herman Frank (Guitar)
Peter Baltes (Bass)
Stefan Schwarzmann (Drums)

Accept’s Fourth studio album, first released in the UK in March 1983, can be purchased through Revolver Records on Amazon.

Diamond Head Announces US Tour!

For the first time in 35 years, the legendary N.W.O.B.H.M band Diamond Head will perform a full run of dates across the United States. The tour commences on the 15th August 2011 in Seattle making it’s way to the final date of the tour on the 1st September in New York.

Scorpions Perform At Saimma Open Air (Finland)

On the 22nd July 2011, SCORPIONS performed at Finland’s SAIMAA OPEN AIR with the renowned Finnish Sorprano and ex-Nightwish singer Tarja Turunen perfoming guest vocals on the track ‘The Good Die Young’. Scorpions frontman Klaus Meine dedicated the song to those who lost their lives in the tragic events that occured in  Norway earlier on the same day.

Cloven Hoof ‘The Opening Ritual’ Re-Released

Cloven Hoof, have re-released an LP edition of ‘The Opening Ritual’ containing previously unreleased bonus tracks!

The Opening Ritual is a four track mini album that was released in the July of 1982. The EP stayed in the Sounds and Kerrang Heavy Metal Charts for six weeks peaking at Number 18. Articles in Kerrang and Noise magazine followed with Geoff Barton tipping the band for the top in his prestigious “Breaking through in 82 feature,” and playlist.

FM Revolver released two of Cloven Hoof’s critically acclaimed records; ‘Dominator’ in 1988 and ‘A Sultan’s Ransom’ in 1989.

The Fall, The Rise working on new material

Midlands Rockers, ‘The Fall, The Rise’ are busy working on new material and preparing for the release of a Split EP with EvenFlowersKill due out in September through Damage Limitation Records.

Currently the band are playing a few shows across the Midlands on the  23rd of July at Woody’s Bar in Cannock and the 30th of July at The Wagon and Horses in Digbeth. Further shows to coincide with the release of the Split EP are set to be announced in the not so distant future…

The band’s debut album ‘Interlopers’, released on Revolver’s Black Records subdivision, can be purchased through the Revolver Records Website and from the iTunes Store.

Heavy Metal Kids Added To Seattle Sound Fest (US)

Heavy Metal Kids have been added to the line-up at Seattle Sound Fest which takes place from the 19th-21st August 2011. The band will play on Saturday 20th August at ‘Funhouse’ alongside The Riffs, Neon Nights, Prima Donna and Badlands.

HELLFIGHTER – ‘Legacy Of Hate’ VIDEO and Hard Rock Hell Festival (UK)

UK Thrash Metallers, Hellfighter released a new music video on the 8th June 2011 for the single ‘Legacy Of Hate’, taken from their dynamic debut album released on Heavy Metal Records back in February 2011. The video can be viewed below.

Hellfighter have also been announced as part of the line-up at Hard Rock Hell V, which takes place from the 1st to the 4th December 2011 at Pontins, Prestatyn, North Wales. The band will appear on the Saturday of the Festival which boasts big names including the likes of  Ace Frehley and Black Stone Cherry. Diamond Head in the ‘Big Four Jam’ at Sonisphere UK!

With the UK Summer Festival season now drawing to a close and the festival ‘blues’ settling in what could be better than reliving one of this years imminent highlights?!

It needs no introduction. Everyone has heard of  Thrash Metal’s Titans; Metallica, Megadeth, Slayer and Anthrax, and it was no surprise that this years announcement  that the big four were to play TOGETHER for the first time ever at the UK’s Sonisphere Festival, with Diamond Head opening proceedings, that Metal fans across the world just HAD to be there!

All of the stops were pulled out at this historic event when the highly anticipated ‘Big Four Jam’ towards the end of Metallica’s set, saw members of Diamond Head, Metallica, Megadeth, Slayer, Anthrax, Sepultura, Exodus take to the stage for a renditon of Diamond Head’s ‘Am I Evil?’ – A Thrash Metal fans dream!

In addition, it is worth noting that Diamond Head were also recognised in Metal Hammer’s Golden God Awards 2011 held in June at the IndigO2, London. The band were presented with the ‘Spirit Of Hammer’ Award and acknowledged as the reason why Metallica exist having been a heavy influence on their music!

New Amebix Single!

British Crust Punk pioneers Amebix have released ‘Knight’s Of Black Sun’, a preview single for the first Amebix Studio Album in more than twenty years.

The upcoming album, entitled ‘Sonic Mass’  is set for release on the 20th September 2011 through the bands own label, Amebix Records in conjunction with Profane Existance and Easy Action Records.

Amebix’s last studio album ‘Monolith’ (Released in 1987) can be purchased via Heavy Metal Records and through the iTunes Store.

Art Of Dying added to the line-up of Rockstar Energy Drink UPROAR Festival 2011

Canadian Rockers Art Of Dying have joined the explosive line-up at the second annual Rockstar Energy Drink Uproar Festival.  The band will play alongside the likes of Avenged Sevenfold, Bullet For My Valentine, Three Days Grace and Seether.

Kicking off on the 26th August in Camden, NJ, the tour will run right through to the 14th October at Mountain View, CA , descending on over 30 cities across the United States and Canada on the way, with further dates still to be announced.
